How It Works
Three ways to turn text into audio. No signup required.
URL → Audio
Paste a URL
Copy the link of any article, blog post, news story, or documentation page and paste it into Sornic.
Extract & Preview
Sornic strips ads, popups, and clutter — leaving only the article text. You see a preview with word count and estimated listen time.
Listen or Download
Choose a voice, hit "Generate Audio", and your article becomes natural-sounding audio in seconds. Play in-browser or download as MP3.
PDF → Audio
Upload a PDF
Drag and drop or click to upload any PDF — research papers, ebooks, reports, contracts. Up to 4MB.
Text Extraction
Sornic extracts the text content from your PDF, cleans up formatting artifacts, and shows you a preview.
Listen or Download
Same flow as URL — choose a voice, generate audio, play or download. Works with any text-based PDF.
Photo → Audio
Snap or Upload a Photo
Take a photo of a book page, whiteboard, menu, sign, or any printed text. On mobile, you can use your camera directly.
OCR Extraction
Google Cloud Vision reads the text from your image. AI cleans up OCR artifacts like broken words and stray characters.
Listen or Download
Same audio pipeline — choose a voice, generate, and listen. Works best with clear, well-lit text.
Supported Content
Sornic works with text-based content across all three input methods:
Not supported:
Voice Selection
Choose from 6 AI voices. Free users get Google Standard voices; paid users unlock Chirp 3 HD voices with richer, more natural intonation.
Your voice preference is saved automatically for next time.
MP3 Downloads
After generating audio from any input (URL, PDF, or photo), click the download button to save as MP3. Listen offline while commuting, working out, or doing chores.
Queue
Add multiple articles and listen back-to-back. The queue button sits in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Enable auto-play to seamlessly transition between articles. Reorder or remove items at any time.
Listening History
Your recently played articles appear on the home screen. Click any entry to re-extract and listen again. History is stored locally in your browser and keeps your last 20 articles.
Share Links
Click the share button on the audio player to copy a link that opens Sornic with your article URL and voice pre-selected. Send it to anyone — they can listen instantly without setup.
Bookmarklet
Install the Sornic bookmarklet for one-click conversion. While reading any article, click the bookmarklet and Sornic opens with the URL ready to go.
Install bookmarklet →Telegram Bot
Use Sornic directly from Telegram. Send any article URL to @SornicBot and it will extract the article, generate audio, and send you an MP3 right inside Telegram.
